We Defend EU – Diaspora / Commercial Division
Additional capacity.
Clear accountability.
A structured collaboration for boutique arbitration and disputes firms that need defined research, drafting or case-preparation support across a matter or workload.
01 / The commercial question
Extend capacity without obscuring responsibility.
Demand fluctuates around filing dates, evidence preparation and procedural milestones. A subcontracting arrangement should define the work, access, supervision where applicable and handover standards as clearly as a one-off instruction.
We consider continuing or staged assignments from instructing firms. Availability is confirmed for the proposed period and workload. This is distinct from a single tribunal-drafting brief and does not imply an employment relationship, partnership or appointment to any institution.
02 / Defined workstreams
A focused scope.
Useful deliverables.
Workstream and capacity
Identify the matters or task categories, anticipated volume, delivery windows and point of contact. Agree how additional requests and changes in priority will be handled.
Conflicts and confidentiality
Confirm the parties and conflict-check process before receiving case papers. Establish approved document-transfer arrangements, access scope and confidentiality terms.
Review and supervision
Define the instructing team’s reviewer, responsibility for legal strategy, sign-off and filing, together with any supervision required for the relevant work.
Delivery and fees
Agree milestones, communication cadence, revision expectations and fee basis. Changes to volume or scope receive a revised agreement before extra work proceeds.
What the assignment can deliver
A collaboration may cover recurring research, draft materials, chronologies, document indexes or hearing-preparation workstreams. Each deliverable, deadline and responsibility is identified in the instruction; no open-ended availability is promised.
03 / Engagement
Assessment.
Briefing. Proposal.
Describe the capacity need
State the work types, jurisdictions, expected duration, volume and first delivery date.
Agree the operating brief
Confirm suitability, conflicts, confidentiality, review arrangements and a defined fee basis.
Review delivery
Track completed work, outstanding questions and capacity before agreeing the next stage.
Suitable enquiries are invited to a private, no-charge 20-minute corporate briefing. Substantive work begins only after scope, responsibility and fees are agreed.
Can we begin with one assignment?
Yes. A discrete initial brief can establish the working arrangement before any continuing commitment is considered.
Is client contact included?
Only where the instructing firm expressly agrees it and the role is appropriate. The default arrangement is delivery to the instructing team.
Your next step
Bring the decision
into focus.
Tell us your organisation, the jurisdictions involved, your commercial objective and any urgent date. We will review suitability before inviting you to a corporate briefing.
Please use a brief overview at this stage. Document-transfer arrangements and any engagement are confirmed separately.
